Obama’s Nomination of a New Supreme Court Justice is a “Constitutional Crisis”

The folks at NRA News have taken it upon themselves to educate the rest our nation about the danger currently facing our Constitutional Republic.

NRA reporter Ginny Simone had the occasion to sit down with former Attorney General Edwin Meese to discuss the current impasse in the legislature over whether or not the Republican majority should allow hearings to be held on the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court.

In the weeks since the passing of Justice Antonin Scalia, many liberals have argued that now is the time for Democrat leadership to force through a heavily weighted (to the left) court in an effort to ensconce many of their progressive fantasies forever into national (and Constitutional) law. Recently, Chelsea Clinton joined the chorus of liberals arguing for the 2nd Amendment to be repealed when she suggested that if her mother, Hillary Clinton, were elected she would appoint Justices who would gladly gut the Bill of Rights.

We cannot allow it. We must take the advice of Meese and demand our legislators block Judge Garland’s nomination, then we must come together and elect a conservative to the White House. Remember, the next President will likely have the opportunity to seat no less than 3 Supreme Court Justices over the next 4-8 years…

This election is very important and electing a true, ideological conservative may be more important now than ever before.

Former Attorney General Edwin Meese served under President Ronald Reagan and played a key role in the appointment of Justice Antonin Scalia to the Supreme Court. Now he is faced with President Obama choosing as Scalia’s successor a man who has demonstrated a lack of respect for the plain meaning of the Constitution. Meese explains why, in order to preserve our rights and the integrity of our foundational document, it is important to block Merrick Garland’s appointment.
