In a recent phone interview with his favorite conservative news outlet, Breitbart News, Donald Trump argued that he believes Hillary Clinton is only “being nice” to President Obama because she’s hoping that he’ll keep her out of legal trouble!
When Breitbart News asked Trump what he though of Bill Clinton’s recent statement about Obama leaving an “awful legacy,” Trump was quick to guess that Hillary Clinton would soon be indicted.
“If he said that, Hillary will be indicted,” Trump said of Bill Clinton’s comments about the Obama era. “In all fairness, that’s incredible, because I think she’s being nice to Obama for only one reason: She wants to get protected. That’s the only reason she’s nice to him. If Bill Clinton made that statement, that is a disaster for Hillary’s election. And it’s a disaster for the relationship between Hillary and Obama.”
Trump’s comments came just days before the Washington Post discovered that the FBI was working hard on the case against Hillary Clinton, with at least a dozen FBI agents (and perhaps as many as 50) working full-time on the investigation. It’s not clear how close the FBI may be to either indicting Clinton or clearing her of wrong doing, but what is clear is that they are taking the case very seriously.
The Post reported that the FBI has accelerated its investigation because officials want to avoid potentially announcing any action close to the November election.
Comey has signaled that he is personally close to the probe into Clinton’s personal email account used during her time as secretary of State.
“What I can assure you is that I am very close personally to that investigation to ensure that we have the resources we need, including people and technology, and that it’s done the way the FBI tries to do all of it’s work: independently, competently and promptly,” Comey told lawmakers in early March.
This latest news in the Clinton case lends some credence to Trump’s personal belief that Clinton has been treating the Obama administration with kid gloves in hopes of protecting herself. The question is, how far will President Obama stick out his neck to protect a woman who seems constantly embroiled in immoral if not outright criminal behavior? Stay tuned because we may just find out this summer.
