In a shocking twist to a story that has been several weeks in the making, Donald Trump’s campaign manager has been arrested for the battery of former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.
JUST IN: Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski charged in alleged battery of Breitbart reporter.

Back at a Trump campaign event in Florida on March 8th, Fields attempted to ask Mr. Trump about his views on affirmative action when she was suddenly jolted backwards, almost falling to the ground. Fields said that someone had grabbed her arm and yanked her back and down, hard. Almost immediately, the Washington Post’s Ben Terris commented that it had been Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski who had manhandled Fields.
This is what Terris said he saw happen:
I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager.
Fields stumbled. Finger-shaped bruises formed on her arm.
‘I’m just a little spooked,’ she said, a tear streaming down her face. ‘No one has grabbed me like that before.’
She took my arm and squeezed it hard. ‘I don’t even want to do it as hard as he did,’ she said, ‘because it would hurt.’
Over the next few days the Trump campaign, and the candidate himself, would vociferously defend Lewandowski and call Fields a liar. “Perhaps she made the story up. I think that’s what happened,” Trump told reporters after the GOP debate in Miami.
@MichelleFields you are totally delusional. I never touched you. As a matter of fact, I have never even met you.

While the Trump campaign circled the wagons around Lewandowski, the leaders at Breitbart began to distance themselves from Fields. Breitbart’s decision to seemingly not support their own reporter led Trump supporters across the Internet to say some very harsh, demeaning, and even slanderous things about her. The lack of confidence from her employers led Fields to resign a short while later, along with several other Bretibart employees, including Ben Shapiro.
However, Fields may now feel vindicated, because on Tuesday Lewndowski was forced to turn himself in to the Jupiter, FL police department after they issued a warrant for his arrest. The key piece of evidence in their investigation has also finally been released, and it clearly shows the situation unfolding exactly as Fields had described in her retelling of the days events.

And here’s the video where you can clearly observe Lewandowski grabbing Fields and pulling her back. This video is the key piece of definitive evidence that the Jupiter Police Department used in determining that Lewandowski did indeed physically accost Fields.

Oddly, even with the video footage showing irrefutable evidence that Corey Lewandowski did indeed grab fields and pull her away from Mr. Trump… the campaign continues to defend him.
Campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement Tuesday that Lewandowski is “absolutely innocent of this charge,” and will plead not guilty.
“He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated,” the statement said.
Wow, Corey Lewandowski, my campaign manager and a very decent man, was just charged with assaulting a reporter. Look at tapes-nothing there!

A crazy 2016 election season continues to spiral out of control.
As if this all could get weirder… the Weekly Standard is reporting that Lewandowski’s lawyer was once fired… for biting a stripper. I kid you not.
