Oh. My. Goodness.
This may well by my favorite moments of the 2016 campaign so far. It’s about a minute long and it contains a whole mess of stuff that we just don’t have the time to dive into… but it’s all so good.
It seems like Bill Clinton believes that electing his wife President will lead to the discovery of time travel because he speaks as if he thinks getting her elected will lead to a return to the 1990’s. It sounds like he thinks a Hillary Clinton election will bring about a change so dramatic that it will lead to liberals being willing to compromise!
Not only that, it seems that the former President was also caught in a moment of truth telling where he readily admits that the Obama era has been an utter disaster!
“If you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the seven years before that when we were practicing trickle down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her.”
While the man may be wrong about what caused the economic disaster that we now call the “Great Recession,” he’s not wrong about the fact that Obama’s legacy will be awful. Let’s also be clear – President George W. Bush’s real legacy is not one of “trickle down economics” but of crony capitalism and government expansion. Under President Bush the government grew at an even faster rate than it did under President Clinton!
But let’s focus on what Bill got right. The Obama Era has been an abject disaster, and it’s time for our nation to turn the page. The thing is, we won’t do that by handing over the reins of leadership to his wife, Hillary Clinton. No, she’s more of the same. What we need is an about face – from liberal governance to real conservative leadership. It’s time to hand the helm to a true conservative — and that means it’s time for [score]Ted Cruz[/score].
