Obama Nominates a Radical Leftist for the Supreme Court

Of course he did.

Everything President Obama does is intended more as a sleight to conservatives and Republicans than it is as an actual attempt at making progress, so why wouldn’t he choose to nominate someone who is as radically liberal as he is? The only saving grave for Obama’s selection of Merrick Garland to the bench is that Garland is the only judge that Obama was considering who hadn’t actually contributed financially to Obama’s campaigns!

On Friday, the media began reporting that the Obama administration had narrowed their list of Supreme Court nominees to five federal judges. That the President was planning on pushing forward with his plan to nominate a Justice to replace the recently passed Antonin Scalia was no surprise; what was surprising was the fact that the Obama team would be so nakedly corrupt. Where is the corruption you ask?

Well, apparently, 4 out of the 5 judges being considered are… Obama donors!

From the Washington Free Beacon:

The five federal judges who will be interviewed by the White House for the nomination are federal judges Sri Srinivasan (who has donated $4,250 to Obama), Jane Kelly ($1,500 to Obama), Paul Watford ($1,000 to Obama), Ketanji Brown Jackson ($450 to Obama), and Merrick Garland, who has not donated to Obama.

Merrick GarlandWhile Garland may not be an Obama funder, he is a reliable leftist who is pro-abortion, liberal on social issues, anti-2nd Amendment, a big supporter of the EPA, and a sure supporter of the Democrats expansive view of the federal government.

Senator [score]Ted Cruz[/score] (R-TX) has already announced his opposition to Garland’s nomination and his hope that the rest of his GOP Senate colleagues will stand strong and block Garland’s appointment to the Supreme Court.

“Merrick Garland is exactly the type of Supreme Court nominee you get when you make deals in Washington D.C. A so-called ‘moderate’ Democrat nominee is precisely the kind of deal that Donald Trump has told us he would make – someone who would rule along with other liberals on the bench like Justices Ginsburg and Sotomayor. Make no mistake, if Garland were confirmed, he would side predictably with President Obama on critical issues such as undermining the Second Amendment, legalizing partial-birth abortion, and propping up overreaching bureaucratic agencies like the EPA and the IRS. We cannot afford to lose the Supreme Court for generations to come by nominating or confirming someone that a dealmaker like Donald Trump would support. Washington dealmakers cannot be trusted with such crucial lifetime appointments.

“I proudly stand with my Republican colleagues in our shared belief – our advice and consent – that we should not vote on any nominee until the next president is sworn into office. The People will decide. I commend [score]Mitch McConnell[/score] and [score]Chuck Grassley[/score] for holding the line and ensuring that We the People get to exercise our authority to decide the direction of the Supreme Court and the Bill of Rights.”

Thank the LORD we have leaders like Ted Cruz and [score]Mike Lee[/score] fighting against the liberal agenda for us.

Call your Senators today and tell them that they must stand united in opposition to Merrick Garland.
