USPS Dumps Christmas

I don’t want to be the guy to beat the whole “war on Christmas” drum, because I think that our squishy moderate friends get tired of it. Most of those politically “moderate” folks that I know think that we are simply paranoid about the so-called liberal media and the great leftist conspiracy. I try to explain using all of the anecdotal evidence that’s out there that the left really is out to get us… but the moderates aren’t buying it.

However, when I see low hanging fruit like this, I have to jump in and say something.

Look, I get the whole diversity of holiday’s thing. USPS is a mixed public entity and America is a melting pot of different cultures, religions and beliefs. There should be stamps that recognize Hanukah, and Kwanzaa, and other popular holidays. However, shouldn’t there also be stamps for the holiday that most of us will be celebrating as well? I mean, we have to listen to Christmas carols from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas day – shouldn’t there be stamp for a holiday with that kind of power?!

The truth for me is this…

The liberal agenda is a secularist agenda. They want to drive faith, specifically Christianity, right out of our collective cultural mind. So they’ll look for every corner they can cut and every chance they can get to try to make society a little less “Christian.” For the secular liberal (in America), the only true danger to secularism is Christianity…

Which is why stupid stuff like these stamps happen.

UPDATE: The USPS has responded to the little hubbub they’ve created…
