Tim Allen’s hit ABC show Last Man Standing recently celebrated its 100th episode, which is an important milestone for any TV production, especially in today’s attention deficit rich culture.
Allen spoke to FOX411 about what it means to have another hit show under his belt (many will remember Allen’s other beloved show Home Improvement), and he also had some comments on the 2016 election season.
When FOX asked about his opinion on the race, Allen had some glowing, if very focused, comments about frontrunner Donald Trump.
“I think it’s funny because Donald Trump is kind of in the spirit of old Greek tyrants where they used to vote in a guy that had no encumbrances. So the smartest thing about him, which is probably most overlooked, to me, is that he doesn’t owe anybody anything and if he would just stick to fixing the bridges, roads and infrastructures that’s what he knows how to do…just keep him doing that. He says a lot of stupid stuff but what he can do, he should do.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean that Trump is the candidate that Allen is supporting. He’s not officially endorsed anyone, but he has spoken very highly of Governor John Kasich (R-OH) in other recent interviews.
I met with John Kasich, a great guy. He’s a Republican that Democrats would vote for, a Republican the Republicans should respect. But he’s not saying provocative things. He’s not glib enough or he doesn’t speak well enough because somehow he doesn’t get traction. So we’ll end up with somebody scary.
Here’s more of Tim Allen talking Politics with Sean Hannity on Fox News a few months back.
