Chris Matthews will never be confused with a professional comedian, and now we know why. Speaking to what must have been a friendly audience, Matthews was being asked a question about the popular Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, when he decided to go for a stroll in the gutter.

Chris Matthews – “The one I feel for is his wife… did you just say crush… use your imagination… you poor dears…”

christieandmatthewsI get it Chris – the Governor is an easy target because of his weight. But you’re a professional TV talker! You should know that a joke like this is below who you’re supposed to be. How can anyone take you seriously when you’re bloviating on the day’s political news, if in the back of our minds we’re actually thinking…”isn’t this the guy that tells the fat sex jokes?”

I guess at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, because you and I already think Chris Matthews is a no account clown. Meanwhile, his liberal Democrat fans are probably cheering him on as he makes crude jokes like this. So he doesn’t really lose anything by taking part in a bit of fun at the Governor’s expense.

It just reinforces my opinion that most liberal talking heads are actually small-minded cretins who’d rather be gossiping about their opponents than trying to pretend they respect them.
