The IJ Review has a fascinating interview up on their site right now, and it’s one that every American needs to read. Author and former Iraqi soldier, Hamody Jasim, recently connected the IJ Review with one of his comrades from Iraq. Master Sergeant Karam Saad was trained by the US Marines and is a veteran of many confrontations with the ISIS terrorists. In 2014, the Master Sergeant was taken prisoner by ISIS and forced to spend 3 harrowing days as their captive.
I won’t regurgitate the entire interview for you; instead you can read it at the IJ Review, but I did want to highlight a few of the most interesting segments.
We already knew that Islam treats any non-Muslim heinously, but Saad said that ISIS pays particular ‘attention’ to their Christian prisoners.
“They tortured the sh** out of the Christians and some died in the process. They would take some and lock them in a kind of casket, and set it on fire from the inside.”
Saad also detailed what it’s like to free people who are suffering the ravages of the ISIS slave trade.
It’s the most emotional moment as a soldier in your life. It hurts to see them jumping to kiss your boots. They treat it like a God has saved them, not a soldier.”
The Master Sergeant also discussed various other aspects of his time fighting ISIS and his escape from his captors, but he had a very pointed comment to make about President Obama’s strategy for dealing with ISIS, plus a few words of wisdom for American voters.
“The airstrikes are not effective and there are really no functional operations. The coalition is bullsh**! They might get a couple good shots here or there, but for the most part it’s not an effective strategy.
In the future, I feel that the Republicans will be more effective to battle ISIS than the Democrats will. Since 1991, the Republicans have been better allies than Democrats. The Democrats have a stupid strategy. I had spent a long time on the battlefield with the Republicans politics and we’ve had way more victories in the fight.
Under the Obama administration, America is not taking this fight seriously.”
Master Sergeant Saad has recovered from his captivity and he is back to doing what he does best — fighting ISIS terrorists in Iraq. We hope that he stays safe, that his nation and the world are soon free of the ISIS threat, and that Americans heed his words of wisdom and elect a conservative as the next Commander-in-Chief.
