What We’re Reading November 6, 2013

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday November 6, 2013.

Yesterday was a pretty light day as far as election days go, but there was definitely some important stuff going down. In Virginia Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) defeated Ken Cuccinelli (R-VA) by the slimmest of margins for the shot at leading the state as Governor. In New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) handily won reelection to his post for another four years, though it seems likely that he will leave early for an attempt at the White House. The last well-publicized race was for Mayor in New York City where socialist and Democrat Bill De Blasio easily defeated his opponents.

Speaking of Chris Christie, he wasted no time in defending himself as a conservative and setting himself up as a frontrunner for Republican Presidential candidate in 2016.

“I’m a conservative,” Christie said. “I’ve governed as a conservative in this state, and I think that’s led to some people disagreeing with me in our state, because it’s generally a left-of-center, blue state.”

“The difference has been is I haven’t tried to hide it, or mask it as something different,” said Christie, who brushed off allegations from conservative tea party Republicans that he is a “RINO” – a Republican in name only.

CNN’s ratings have been struggling and this leak won’t help. CNN chief Jeff Zucker was heard blaming RACISM for GOP opposition to Obamacare and the Obama agenda. Wow, the head of the “non-partisan” CNN thinks Republicans are racist… hard to believe.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus had some harsh words for President Obama recently, “Priebus shamed Obama and Democrats for not making a concerted effort to come forth and discourage these blatantly disparaging remarks. The RNC chairman directly blamed the President, saying, “I think he should take ownership over this divisive culture that he has created.”

Toronto Mayor Doug Ford admits to his use of crack cocaine, but says he won’t resign.

Football fans at the University of Missouri game were happy to express their frustration with the President during a ceremony swearing in some National Guard members. Of course, that makes Democrats… unhappy.

Um. This is textbook police abuse. Officers, you do not need to go this far to make sure a crime hasn’t been committed. If the next step is anal surgery – it’s time to stop.
