Facts can be irritating and stubborn, especially when they expose blatant hypocrisy.
The internet has made it difficult to hide from facts. Amidst the fake news stories, conspiracy theories, and downright lies, there is the truth.
When Donald Trump made his comments about Muslims in New Jersey, he was immediately denounced as a liar. Based on a CBS video report that was given soon after the 9/11 attacks, Breitbart led with this article: “Trump 100% Vindicated: CBS Reports ‘Swarm’ On Rooftops Celebrating 9/11.” It wasn’t the “thousands” that Trump claimed, but it was closer to the truth than what the media were reporting.
Add to this story: “9 Pieces of Documentation that Vindicate Trump’s Claim of 9/11 Muslim Celebrations.”
Now we learn that a previous Democrat President did what Trump is proposing regarding halting for a period of time (not forever) immigration of Muslims from Muslim nations. You don’t have to agree with either decision, but it’s important to make the facts known.
Trump’s hyperbole is at least forcing all of us to assess the issues without being strong-armed by the media. There is now more discussion of topics that were once swept under the carpet than there has been in a long time…
