Do Christians Stand a Chance Against ENDA?

Liberals roll their eyes at us. “Oh, don’t be silly,” they say, “Sure, sexual freedom is taking off, but religious institutions will never have to compromise their faith!”

I hear this sort of thing all the time.

If you mention concern that institutions like Christian schools could face legal action for not hiring a transgender teacher, Democrats will patronize and claim that although laws like ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act ) will probably get passed, religious institutions will always be exempt.

No, we are not paranoid.

In 2006, Chai Feldblum was quoted as saying, “Sexual liberty should win in most cases. There can be a conflict between religious liberty and sexual liberty, but in almost all cases the sexual liberty should win because that’s the only way that the dignity of gay people can be affirmed in any realistic manner. I’m having a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win.”
