We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday, September 30, 2015.

Barack Obama has finally accomplished something… he turned Vladimir Putin into the world’s most powerful leader.

Don’t be fooled, folks. John Boehner didn’t resign because of some altruistic sense of service. He quit on America because he knew that he was about to get fired due to his lackluster performance.

Under Boehner’s leadership, the institutional standing of the Republican Congress has crumbled to record lows. He departs as the least popular Speaker in three decades. The idea that this approach was one designed to appeal to some higher purpose is simply laughable. One does not fall on a sword when your head is already in the guillotine.

Boehner is out because conservatives wield real power in the House, but the reality is that Mitch McConnell should be the one walking away from Washington. Things are only going to get tougher for McConnell from here on out because Boehner’s absences will put the spotlight squarely on McConnell and his actions.

Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has announced that he will run for the Speaker job, promising that the GOP will no longer govern by crisis.

Could the GOP actually regret losing John Boehner?

Ted Cruz (R-TX) is on the campaign trail and very actively vacuuming up Rand Paul’s (R-KY) supporters, as the Senator from Kentucky seems to be preparing to bow out of the presidential race.

The latest FBI report says that violent crime was down in 2014. Sadly, 2015 may reverse that trend as the nation has seen a terrifying spike in crime since the Baltimore riots.
