Abortion Politics

Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie Condemn the Heinous Activities of Planned Parenthood

This was probably my favorite 5 minutes from the debate.

For me, abortion is the premier civil rights issue of our day (no offense to the gay marriage crowd who think anything gender oriented is more important… they’re wrong). And not just that, but I think it’s also the most important political and moral issue that we have faced since ending slavery.

Last night during the debate, Dana Bash asked Governor John Kasich (R-OH) if Republicans who are looking to force a confrontation over the Planned Parenthood scandal are going about the fight in the wrong way. While Kasich’s answer is not strong – Kasich believes other political issues are more important than the 60 million people who have been systematically butchered over the last 40 years – the answers offered up by Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz were perfect.

I stood in my office applauding after Cruz and Fiorina (and nodding my head as Chris Christie spoke) went on the offensive, demanding that Congress push to cut Planned Parenthood’s funding and further demanding that someone be brought up on criminal charges for selling the body parts of aborted children. One of my friends on social media may have said it best when he posted video of Ted Cruz’s response…

If not for Carly Fiorina’s amazing speech, this would go down as the best thing any Republican has ever said about abortion on national television.

It’s true. This debate was viewed by millions of people and was aired on a left of center network (CNN), meaning that Cruz and Fiorina’s arguments may be the two most important pro-life arguments that many of these viewers will ever see! I am so very thankful to Senator Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina (and to a lesser extent Chris Christie) for being to willing to stand up and speak out passionately in defense of life.

Even more reason to love Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina.
