Breaking News

What We’re Reading September 5, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Saturday September 5, 2015.

Sending Kim Davis to jail for being morally opposed to gay marriage is the act of a tyrannical and stupid government.

“The law must be obeyed” is not the final word — morally, practically, or even legally. Sometimes the law is an ass and it must be changed. As Robin Fretwell Wilson said: “Mrs. Davis should not be permitted to lock Mr. Vincent and his fiancé out of marriage when the Supreme Court has spoken. But neither should she lose her job if the state can find creative solutions to avoid that unnecessary result.”

Kevin Williamson of the National Review argues that in our mixed up America… perhaps jail is the best place for a righteous person.

“’Under a government which imprisons any unjustly,” Thoreau reasoned, “the true place for a just man is also a prison.” That we breathe the same free air as Lois Lerner, Eric Holder, and Hillary Rodham Clinton is a testament against us, that we may have a finer understanding of the distinctions necessary to republican self-government but lack the conviction necessary to act on it.”

Apparently, now that Kim Davis is in jail, her “deputy” county clerks will begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The problem is that these licenses may not be legally valid.

Joe Biden just isn’t sure that he wants to take on the stress of running for President in 2016. After the death of his son Beau, he worries that his family might not be ready.

Rick Perry’s presidential campaign is in a “death spiral.”

Hillary Clinton’s IT guy has taken the fifth and CNN thinks that makes the whole email scandal even worse.

Christians, in this world we will have trouble.
