First things first. First of all, our heartfelt condolences to Joseph A. Fydrych on the passing of his wife, Elaine, who died August 13 at the not terribly old age of 63. Our sympathies go out as well to Mrs. Fydrych’s mother, Clara Szumanski, who suffered a fate — surviving one’s own offspring — that is a nightmare no parent should ever have to endure, and to Elaine’s sons Joseph M. and Kevin.
I did not know Elaine Fydrych (who in retrospect sounds wise beyond her years) and would not know of her untimely death were it not for an unusual request in her obituary first noticed by : “In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary Clinton.” of the Washington Free Beacon
There is no further indication of who Mrs. Fydrych would prefer to be the next president, but I believe we all have a responsibility to respect her final wish and act as her proxy.

This is not the first time incidentally that a request not to vote for a particular candidate was made at the time of a person’s passing. In fact, it was the same candidate — Hillary Clinton — who was singled out by the family of Larry Darrell Upright, who died on April 13 at the age of 81. In his obituary, Upright’s grandchildren wrote, “The family respectfully asks that you do not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. R.I.P. Grandaddy.”
Remarkably, as this video reveals, the family received flak from Hillary supporters.
