Obamacare Fans Get Sticker Shock

I’m not sure if this story should make me laugh or cry. On the one hand, it is so much fun watching Obamazombies wake up to the reality that their beloved “Leader” is so full of manure that he could provide the compost for an organic farm all by himself. On the other hand, it terrifies me to think that they could realize they’ve been lied to, they’ve been conned, they’ve been abused by the little despot they love so much… and at the end of the day, they still make excuses for him. What is a poor conservative to do when his opponents seem to either be insane or even worse… in love? There is no rational argument that can win over the fans of President Obama if they still support him even after seeing the empirical evidence of his massive failure for themselves.

What am I talking about?

Just this past week, the San Jose Mercury News out of San Jose, California ran a story about the first couple of people who signed up for their new Obamacare insurance plans. Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big supporters of President Obama, and they were very excited by the creation of the Obamacare healthcare scheme. These two have voted twice for President Barack Obama and could not wait to sign up for the new healthcare program last week. Boy, were these Obamacare fans in for a surprise…

Apparently, the two “independents” who happened to vote twice for the most liberal President in the history of our nation, didn’t believe the Republicans who were trying to warn the nation about the dangers of Obamacare. Ms. Vinson, who purchased an individual policy will see her costs go up about $1,800 a year. Mr. Waschura wasn’t so “lucky;” his family policy will increase his yearly insurance costs by $10,000 for his little family of four.

“I was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,” Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare. “I really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.”

“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.” (Seriously? She didn’t realize she would be paying for it?)

“I’m not against Obamacare,” Waschura said. “It’s just the initial shock. I’m holding out hope that there will be a correction over a handful of years.”

Sadly for Mr. Waschura, there will be a correction, but not the kind he is hoping for. Mr. Waschura was not listening to those Republicans tactics he didn’t like, or he would have already learned that the price for Obamacare will continue to rise as we continue on with this program. Just because you don’t like Republicans or “our tactics,” doesn’t mean that we’re wrong. We’ve been warning middle-class liberals for years that Obamacare was a train wreck that would cost the middle-class more than anyone else. Yet, somehow these Obama supporters missed everything we had to say.

But it could be worse — at least Mr. Waschura and Ms. Vinson realize now that Obamacare is a disaster for American healthcare. They could be this lady…

ObamacarePreciousBut to Gray-Raine, the breast cancer survivor from the East Bay, that correction has already come. “Obamacare is a huge step in the right direction for those of us without employer coverage,” she said, adding that she hopes everyone will “join in and make this new legislation a success for all.”

There are people out there who think it makes total sense for other people to pay for their insurance coverage. These people will never vote for our candidates because they actually believe that they believe that other people should pay for their healthcare. And, if they believe that we should pay for their healthcare, it would make sense that they would think we should be paying for a lot of other things too…

So – I laugh a little at the Obamabots who are now realizing they were lied to by Democrats and told the honest truth by Republicans…

And – I cry a little at the fact that it doesn’t seem to matter to most Obama voters who simply believe that it is completely okay to live their lives at the expense of other people…
