So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday October 8, 2013.

Timothy Stanley, historian from Oxford University, reminds us that government shut downs are really no big deal. Not only do they happen fairly often, it’s actually proof that our system is working the way we designed it to.

A planned immigration rally has been approved by the National Parks Service (NPS) for the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This is the same NPS that would not allow veterans of WWII to visit the WWII memorial. I guess the Obama administration has its priorities in order when it comes on who gets to use public land during the shutdown. “Liberal agenda – permission granted.” “Hero, who served us with great risk to themselves – no way, Jose.”

Here’s a sign of the times. Asia will soon overtake the United States as home to the most people classified as “super wealthy.” Basically, there will be more millionaires calling Asia home than anywhere else in the world.

Peter King enjoys being the “Democrat Wing” of the Republican Party.

A new conservative media watchdog group has formed with designs to take down their liberal counterpart, Media Matters. One of the first targets on their list… the Rev. Al Sharpton. This should be fun.

Islamic countries really don’t like gay people, and they’ll stop at almost nothing to keep them out.

Hey! An old British rocker, Sir Bob Geldof, says the world will end by 2030 because of Global Warming and war. We’re lucky we have old British rock stars to tell us what’s up.
