What We’re Reading October 5, 2013

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Saturday October 5, 2013.

The guy who became famous for enrolling in Obamacare, didn’t actually enroll in Obamacare. Even though the liberal media has hailed him as a paragon of all that is good and right with the world, the truth is that Chad Henderson couldn’t be bothered with actually enrolling in the healthcare scheme.

There’s a lot of random and ridiculous things being said in the debate over the debt ceiling limit, Fox News attempt to cut through the misinformation and tell you how it really is.

The latest Gallup tracking poll has some bad news for the President. It seems that his approval rating his slipped to an all-time low of 41%. I’m honestly amazed that 41% of the country actually think the man is doing an adequate job.

The National Parks Service has reinforced their barriers in an attempt to ensure that people stay out of the open-air WWII memorial. In a continuation of what may be the most ridiculous use of bureaucratic power, the NPS just keeps on making decisions that make them look like idiots. NPS employees say they feel sick about what they are being forced to do, but that their orders come directly from their superiors. It seems very likely that the NPS is coordinating with the White House to try and make the shutdown as painful as possible. It’s simply childish…

The White House is denying an unofficial quote from a Senior White House official. “We are winning,” the unnamed official told the Journal. “It doesn’t really matter to us” how long the shutdown lasts “because what matters is the end result,” the official said.” The White House denies the sentiment and White House spokesman Jay Carney says the President wants the shutdown over ASAP.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) says that the “establishment” of the Republican Party has been waging a war against he and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

A former Islamic warlord who was a mentor to the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, is one of the candidates running for President of Afghanistan.

Catholic priests have been threatened with arrest if they minister to soldiers during the government shutdown… the Obama administration has no shame.
