In a powerful interview with Todd Starnes of Fox Nation, the Reverend Franklin Graham spoke out in the wake of Friday’s gay marriage ruling in the Supreme Court.
After yesterday’s disastrous 5 to 4 ruling in favor of same-sex marriage by the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Roberts made some very strong dissenting statements. He said “Five lawyers have closed the debate and enacted their own vision of marriage as a matter of constitutional law.” And he so rightly added—“Just who do we think we are?” Chief Justice Roberts is speaking with wisdom. The Court has no authority to change or override God’s laws which define marriage as between one man and one woman. Watch this interview with Todd Starnes of Fox News if you’d like to hear more of my comments about this decision.
Speaking of the direction that our nation is heading:
“I believe God could bring judgment upon America. You better be ready and you better be prepared because it’s coming. There will be persecution of Christians for our stand.”
Speaking of the Supreme Court’s ruling:
“I’m disappointed because the government is recognizing sin. This court is endorsing sin. That’s what homosexuality is – a sin against god. I will never recognize it in my heart because God gave marriage between a man and a woman and that’s what marriage is. And I don’t think the court – since it never defined marriage – doesn’t have the right to redefine it. God gave us marriage. Period. And God doesn’t change his mind.”
On what the ruling means for the Church:
“If pastors are going to be forced to provide marriage services for gay couples, I’m not going to do it.”
Then on Monday the Reverend Graham took to Facebook to remind his friends that while the government may now be accepting and promoting sin, our God will have the final say and those who have embraced this will face Him.
The President had the White House lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. This is outrageous—a real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage and whose voice is being ignored. God is the one who gave the rainbow, and it was associated with His judgment. God sent a flood to wipe out the entire world because mankind had become so wicked and violent. One man, Noah, was found righteous and escaped God’s judgment with his family. The rainbow was a sign to Noah that God would not use the flood again to judge the world. But one day God is going to judge sin—all sin. Only those who are found righteous will be able to escape His judgment. That righteousness comes through faith, believing on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who took our sins and shed His blood on the cross for each and every one. So, when we see the gay pride rainbow splashed on business advertisements and many people’s Facebook pages, may it remind all of us of God’s judgment to come. Are you ready? Are your sins forgiven?
