Oh. My. Goodness. Walmart Refuses to make Confederate Flag Cake but Does make ISIS Cake!!!

That’s it.

We have now officially crossed the line into dead-red INSANE.

If you’ve read some of my other work you know that I am a former defender of the Confederate flag who has decided to stop defending its use. I don’t bear any animosity towards the flag or the people who fly it; in fact, I agree with many of you on most everything else… but as a Christian I’m just not sure it’s worth defending if it alienates me from other people.

However, when I see nonsense like the stuff that happened at a Walmart in Slidell, Louisiana this past week… I get a wee-bit agitated.

Last week a gentleman wandered in to his local Walmart hoping to get a cake with a Confederate flag decoration on top. Walmart refused. (As I believe they should be able to – but remember, Christians can’t refuse to bake a cake celebrating homosexual weddings.) The man who ordered the cake, Chuck Netzhammer, decided to see how deep Walmart’s convictions ran, and the very next day he went back and ordered a cake with ISIS’s flag as decoration.

This time, Walmart happily obliged. So Netzhammer did what any red-blooded American would, he made a video blasting Walmart and uploaded it to YouTube!

“Alright, Walmart, you’ve got some explaining to do,” Netzhammer said on camera. He added in his YouTube summary that the Islamic State “is beheading Christians, selling little girls into slavery and is currently a terrorist org at war with the United States — but you can’t buy the General Lee toy car …? It’s a damn shame.”

For their part, Walmart has apologized and said that the ISIS cake should not have been made either.

“We made the decision to stop selling confederate flag related items promoting the flag’s image. For that reason we did not make the cake. {Netzhammer] brought in the other image of ISIS and really, what happened, was our associate didn’t recognize what that image was and what it meant or it wouldn’t have been made.”
