I’m not sure what happened, how it happened, or who made it happen, but this past Friday, for a few minutes, MSNBC had a disgusting Tweet posted that they seemed to think was “funny.” The tweet was of a video of a police officer being dragged by a car after he’d stopped them for a traffic violation. Behind the disturbing video someone had added comical music, as if the video were something out of the Benny Hill show… but it wasn’t funny and the video was all too real.

A few hours later, MSNBC had deleted the Tweet and replaced it with an apology.
A video tweeted from @msnbc Friday evening has been removed. The material was inappropriate. It should not have been posted and we're sorry.

That apology wasn’t good enough for some web surfers
@msnbc how many cops have died this month in the line of duty? It's police week and you thought this was a good idea? Again, not good enough

@msnbc you dont even address which video. You dont even apologize to the officer. Your apology was worse than the joke. Clowns.

@msnbc BULLSHIT! You really think any apology after a tweet like that would be believed? You guys simply think it's ok to kill cops, right?

@msnbc – Too freakin' late MSNBC. You hatred of law enforcement is loud and clear. You want cops dead. We get it.

What do you think? Is MSNBC’s apology good enough? Was it a simple mistake? Or is the Twittersphere right about MSNBC not deserving our forgiveness?
