Liberal Pastor Gets it All Wrong on what it Means to be Free

While it seems that incidents of homosexuals bashing anybody who disagrees with them have died down, don’t think that the Gaystapo is not planning more assaults.

The latest assault comes from Rev. Chuck Queen. Rev. Queen (his real name) is the senior pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky. He’s the author of Being a Progressive Christian (is not) for Dummies (nor for know-it-alls): An Evolution of Faith.

While Rev. Queen went to a conservative Bible college and seminary, he has since taken a different path. Rev. Queen is a self-professed “liberal” who prefers to be identified as a “progressive.” He writes that he makes “no claim to be a ‘moderate.’”

He’s addressed a number of issues from the “progressive” perspective. His latest is on same-sex marriage debate and Religious Freedom Restoration Acts: “To Christians who support RFRA laws: Grow Up!

Here’s Queen’s latest assault: 

“Are you as weary as I am in hearing all these well-to-do, materially prosperous and secure American Christians whining about being religiously persecuted because they cannot act on their exclusive theology in the marketplace and deny services to our LGBT sisters and brothers?

“To all my financially secure, well-off persecuted Christian friends: Please, let it go. Give it up!”

I’m always amazed when “progressives” tout how progressive they are and then start spewing a whole lot of nonsense that is mostly regressive.
