What We’re Reading September 11, 2013

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday September 11, 2013.

The NSA is bad, we’ve already figured that out… but every day new information leaks out that proves they are a lot worse than we realized. Politico has broken a story that shows they regularly break their own rules, and then lie to the people who are supposed to be monitoring them. In essence, the NSA does what it wants – when it wants with no regard to the law.

What could have been? A federal judge came pretty close to shutting down the whole spying program a few years back. Why? He lost confidence that officials could control the program, but was convinced to continue the operations.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was not convinced by the President’s Syria speech that war is necesserary. Meanwhile noted warhawk Lindsey Graham says, “Let’s do it!” Meanwhile for the rest of us it feels like President Obama might not be sure which way to go…

Anthony Weiner looks to be a likely loser.

Eliot Spitzer seems to have lost as well.

Famed atheist, Richard Dawkins, proves to be a grotesque human being. Now he’s defending pedophilia.

neverforgetIn California lawmakers continue to liberalize the state. The legislature has just passed sweeping gun control measures which will outlaw semi-automatic weapons and “California lawmakers are sending Gov. Jerry Brown several bills that would tighten the rules for gun ownership, including new storage and education requirements and adding limits for people with mental health issues.”

Ed Asner says anti-war celebrities won’t speak out because they worry they may damage the Obama administration.

On the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 and 2012 attacks we remember our fallen countrymen. May God give comfort to their loved ones and provide justice to their murderers.
