We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday February 11, 2015.

Ramesh Ponnuru has a message for Republicans in 2015-2016 – “Let’s not get too cute with the whole ‘income inequality’ thing.” The GOP feels they’ve found a weapon in the fact that the income disparity has grown under President Obama, but using that weapon may backfire. We conservatives have long argued that income disparity only really matters if the middle class and poor are getting poorer, so trying to use income inequality against the Democrats could have harmful consequences.

Things are not looking good for Hillary Clinton’s political future. Many Democrats are already expressing distaste with the idea that Clinton will be their party’s likely candidate come 2016. Some serious party leaders are still murmuring that the base doesn’t want Clinton – but would be very happy with Senator Elizabeth Warren.

While President Obama dithers and dallies with his new strategy of “extreme patience,” he’s letting Vladimir Putin win almost every battle in the “words” war.

As the tension in Ukraine continues to boil and Russia seems ready to continue to press their case militarily, the rest of Europe seems to believe as German Chancellor Angela Merkel does: that there is no military solution, only a diplomatic one. President Obama seems to disagree when he says, “Now, it is true that if, in fact, diplomacy fails, what I’ve asked my team to do is to look at all options. What other means can we put in place to change Mr Putin’s calculus? And the possibility of lethal defensive weapons is one of those options that’s being examined.”

The USA is a severe outlier when it comes to the population’s belief in the theory of evolution.
