“What breaks in a moment may take years to mend.” —Old Saying
White House Collusion with a California Traitress
Well, they did it. Barack Obama and Dianne Feinstein went ahead and released the CIA torture report—the report that stands to put at risk the lives of our brave men and women serving abroad. Over 6,000 members of our US Marine Corps are now on high alert. Only Democrats released the report, just as only Democrats supported the Udall Amendment to repeal the First Amendment, and only Democrats signed off on Obamacare.
Future generations of Americans will also be impacted by the release of this report, since foreign intelligence services will stop trusting America to keep their secrets as well as our own (because information released in this report compromises the safety of foreign intelligence operatives as well as American ones). The failure to gain cooperation from foreign governments, due to distrust, will translate into an inability of our future government operatives to find out terror plots in advance and, in so doing, save American lives. Many more Americans will die in the future, as a result of this Democrat betrayal of our country.
It would appear that Barack Obama, in cooperation with Dianne Feinstein and Senate Democrats, is indeed actively trying to kill Americans working for our military and intelligence branches. How do we know this is intentional? Because California Senator Dianne Feinstein herself made a speech from the floor of the US Senate saying as much: “There are those who will seize upon the report and say, ‘See what the Americans did?’ And they will try to use it to justify evil actions or incite more violence. We can’t prevent that. But history will judge us by our commitment to a just society, governed by law and the willingness to face an ugly truth and say, ‘never again.’ There may never be the right time to release this report. The instability we see today will not be resolved in months or years. But this report is too important to shelve indefinitely.” (These comments can be seen and heard on this video: https://tv.yahoo.com/video/sen-dianne-feinstein-talks-cia-170635197-cbs.html.) And a full text of Feinstein’s remarks is available here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2014/12/09/dianne-feinstein-cia-torture-report-full-remarks/20151977/.)
The Importance of Being Earnest
One day prior to Senator Feinstein’s comments, a reporter asked President Obama’s spokesman, Josh Earnest, the following question: “[W]e’re expecting the CIA torture report to come out this week. How well-prepared does the president think US embassies and foreign installations are for the potential reaction?”
Mr. Earnest replied as follows: “[W]e have heard from the committee that they do intend to release the report tomorrow. . . . . There are some indications that the release of the report could lead to a greater risk that is posed to US facilities and individuals all around the world, so the administration has taken the prudent steps to ensure that the proper security precautions are in place. . . . But that said . . . the administration strongly supports the release of this declassified summary of the report. The president . . . believes that, on principle, it’s important to release that report. . . .” (Full comments by Josh Earnest, on behalf of President Obama, can be read here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/12/08/press-briefing-press-secretary-josh-earnest-12814.)
At Odds with Patriotic Americans
Ask any rank-and-file Democrat in the street if this is what he or she had in mind by voting for Obama and the Democrats, and a large majority of them will say no. Most Democrat voters, even if misguided by media propaganda into believing the Democrats are a wise and patriotic party, do not wish death on fellow Americans working for the armed forces and the intelligence services.
It is hard for most Americans to understand why such a report had to be revealed to the world. Why could the report not be shared solely with the president, for executive solutions and correctives to be put in place, without inciting the rest of the world first? “What exactly is the game here?” asked Charles Krauthammer on Fox News, raising the point that the president knows that releasing the report to the public will put American lives in danger. “The second casualty,” according to Krauthammer, “will be the timidity” of those, American and foreign, who will not wish to be “hung out to dry.” And this will lead to increased scarcity of intelligence sources that used to be available to America, but that do not wish to be named in possible future releases of sensitive information that might endanger their own intelligence operatives. (See Krauthammer on the release of the CIA torture report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTHwHsgxReE.)
Fraud in the Reporting
There also seems to be a validity problem with the CIA torture report that Democrats have chosen to ignore: The report convicts the CIA of wrongdoing without interviewing a single CIA operative in the process. Dianne Feinstein has said that this is because the Justice Department was doing its own probe simultaneously, so any witnesses were unavailable. But what Feinstein fails to mention is the fact that this report was actually completed in 2012, and there have been two years in which the witnesses have, indeed, been available for interviews.
Is it really fair to convict an entire agency, without examining any human testimony to put documents into proper perspective? And is it fair to forget our nation’s history? Immediately after 9-11, the American people wanted their government to do whatever it took to ensure that another terrorist attack would not take place. Water-boarding terrorists in custody probably saved lives. And it was only carried out when deemed necessary. A total of three detainees were water-boarded, and they were water-boarded by CIA operatives that were water-boarded themselves before being licensed to carry out enhanced interrogation techniques on others.
Also, it is debatable whether or not water-boarding is really torture. It is doubtful that the CIA would actually torture its own operatives in order to qualify them to torture others. This calls into question the very outlook that has been written into such a biased report. It would appear that this is a partisan report, filled with liberal inaccuracies, and untouched by conservative hands. This would make the report about as sound a document as the Obamacare law. (You can read the report here.)
A Banquet of Consequences
The fact that President Obama has been gutting America’s military to the extent that our navy will soon be smaller than it was pre-World-War-One and our army smaller than it was prior to World War Two has been a matter of grave concern for patriotic Americans who desire that our country remain strong and secure. But at least there was always the fact that we did have friends and allies around the world who trusted us and whom we could trust in return to have our back. No more.
The release of this report will mean that the global cooperation and teamwork we have hitherto enjoyed will now, consequently, begin to dry up. Obama, Feinstein, and the Democrats have seen to it. Back when Obama was first elected to office, Obama commented that he was going to have things his way, because “elections,” he said, “have consequences.”
And, having elected a traitor as their Commander-in-Chief, Americans must now sit down to a banquet of consequences.
