Unwelcome Guests

“I am the guest!  We have to do whatever I want!” shouted the sticky-faced snot rocket from the backseat.

Did I bring the minivan to a screeching halt and drop her off on the side of the road?

No, but, I thought about it.

I did, however, not ever invite that kid over again for a play date.

“Not all people who are here are made to feel welcome in this country,” said the stone-faced mother at our home school group when I dared to mention that I am a patriot.

‘Made to feel welcome’ ?!?!?  Who is supposed to ‘make someone feel welcome’ here.  Whose job is that?  Do they make illegal aliens feel welcome in Saudi Arabia? In Russia?  In liberals’ beloved France?

No, they boot you out.

It used to be that when you were a guest in someone’s home, you were taught to be a good guest.  Be polite, mind your manners, don’t eat too many cookies, be a good guest SO THAT YOU WILL BE INVITED BACK.

It used to be that when you moved to the land of opportunity, the greatest country in the world, you dropped your old way of living and you upgraded to the best – American.

Now, we have uninvited, unwelcome guests demanding to be here and CHANGE AMERICA.  How did we let this happen?

It is pure lunacy!

Why would I continue to give things to an ungrateful, petulant child?  I wouldn’t.  Why would we invite people to come here, take our stuff and then complain about it?  We shouldn’t.
