What We’re Reading August 13, 2013

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently! It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day. You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday August 13, 2013.

What does it say about the President that only 11% of American voters believe what he says about the NSA scandal and the needed changes that are coming?

Newly proposed legislation may require that “black boxes” (similar to the ones found in airplanes) be installed on all newly produced automobiles. The legislation could mean that “Big Brother” would be along for the ride, wherever you drive.

Hillary Clinton has planned out a speaking tour that will take her around the country to give a series of speeches to “restore faith in government.” This may be the clearest signal yet that Clinton plans on running for President in 2016.

The President has given DNI head James Clapper the job of reviewing the NSA technical abilities – and to make sure that its resources are allocated in the best way possible to protect the United States. It’s kind of like asking a professional thief to guard your valuables… makes no sense. Clapper has already lied, a couple of times, to Congress. There is no way we can trust him.

Hey kids in California – Guess what? You can now choose which bathroom you’d prefer to use (girls or boys) and which sports team you’d like to play on. Boys, if you think you’d get more playing time on the girls team… go for it! Plus, you’ll get to share their showers. (Ridiculous California… even for you.)

Eight charts explain why Texas won’t vote Democrat.

The Interior Secretary doesn’t want any climate change deniers in his office.

Sen. Harkin (D-IA) doesn’t think illegal immigrants are criminals. That word illegal sure is tricky.

HHS Director Sebelius also thinks the single payer system is inevitable.

Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the fan favorite in Iowa.
