Obamacare Creator says ‘Stupidity of American Voter’ Got Law Passed

Finally some truth. Finally some honesty from liberals about Obamacare and the methods that liberals use to get their agenda shoved down America’s throat.

Jonathan Gruber is an economist who happens to be one of the architects of the Obamacare healthcare nightmare.

If the passage of Obamacare didn’t make you angry before, I think his explanation of how it got passed will most certainly make you angry now.

This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scores the mandate as taxes the bill dies. In terms of Risk Rated Subsidies, if you get a law that makes explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money. It would not have passed.

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever. But basically, that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass.

We could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.”

The last line is the Democrat philosophy of politics summed up rather succinctly. You realize what he’s saying, right? If we have to lie to get stuff that we want… so be it!

Sure, we have to lie, cheat and steal to accomplish our goals. Sure, the things we want may not be popular or beneficial. Sure, this may make us sound like some kind of grotesque medieval oligarchy… but we’d rather have this than not.

The Democrats are the party of – “do what it takes to win – no matter the costs.”

How can voters continue to reward them for being better liars, cheaters and scoundrels?
