What We’re Reading August 6, 2013

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently! It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day. You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday August 6, 2013.

The sudden closure of several of our overseas embassies has more than a few people upset. Count Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert as one of those, in a recent interview he showed his displeasure by saying, “you don’t have to close your embassies like a bunch of cowards who are running away.”

A recent report in Fox News shows that as Virginia gun sales have risen over the last few years, incidents of violent crimes have also dropped. In a situation that will of course be waved off as meaningless by the left, it’s still nice to again see direct evidence that more guns does not mean more violence.

In an interesting twist of historical fate, Ze Germans, are worried about how much we’ll be spying on them. In fact a recent survey shows that they fear us, about as much as they fear the Chinese. They are incredibly worried about their private information being stolen out from underneath them.

We recently discussed here on Eagle Rising how more than 77% of the jobs added in 2013 have been of the part-time variety. Well, I have worse news for you… since 2009 a full 90% of the new jobs added have been part-time jobs. Ooooof. That hurts.

The President of Arizona State University wants to set your mind at ease, College is still well worth the investment.

holder1You do not want to even think about how much we pay to haul Attorney General Eric Holder around the world.

Abortion loving Wendy Davis tweets that she doesn’t “know what happened in the Gosnell case.”

Just a friendly reminder – North Korea is still a horrible place to live.

Comedian Adam Carolla tears apart the left-wing race baiting machine.

Alaskans are too smart for Democratic pollster PPP.

Um… I don’t want to do this, but if you do – here are some great places to do it.
