What We’re Reading October 25, 2014

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Saturday October 25, 2014.

The venerable Charles Krauthammers has a new op-ed up in the Washington Post and boy is it ever scathing. Here’s how it starts…

The president is upset. Very upset. Frustrated and angry. Seething about the government’s handling of Ebola, said the front-page headline in theNew York Times last Saturday.

There’s only one problem with this pose, so obligingly transcribed for him by the Times. It’s his government. He’s president. Has been for six years. Yet Barack Obama reflexively insists on playing the shocked outsider when something goes wrong within his own administration.

A computer simulation that was published yesterday says that if there is not a huge increase in aid to Liberia the Ebola epidemic is soon to explode.

Why is the right-of-center media in America disappearing?

Tom Coburn’s latest addition of “Wastebook” is out, and there are a few gems in it this year. Like Swedish foot massages for rabbits!

Obamacare is KILLING Democrat candidates. Oh, by the way, the big Democrat “experiment” in Colorado is a huge failure.

Hey, guess what? The government took in more of our money than EVER BEFORE in 2014.

The Obama Treasury Department announced that the government collected record revenue in 2014. Is this a cause for celebration? If the government is taking in more money than ever, is it a sign of collective achievement or another sign that President Obama is driving us down? I would love to hear a Democrat campaigning for office cheer about how well the government is doing; how the government is collecting a record amount of money while the median household income for American families has dropped by about $1,600 since June 2009. Hooray!
