Vice President Joe Biden continues to demonize and dehumanize Republicans and conservatives every chance he gets.
Speaking with black clergy in South Carolina, VP Biden focused his ire on crazy Tea Party folks and Republicans who “have no judgment.”
He offered a candid critique of Republicans, calling the tea party “crazy,” according to a detailed readout of Biden’s remarks provided to CNN by a person in the room.
“This is not your father’s Republican Party,” he said, according to the source. “This is a different breed of cat, man. I am not making a moral judgment, but I will tell you that they have no judgment.”
Biden predicted dire consequences for Democrats if Republicans win full control of Congress in November.
“If they win again, we are going to get no consensus on anything for the next two, four, six years,” Biden told the gathering of more than 100 ministers. “But if we beat some of these folks, it’s going to give some spine to the Republicans who know better,” Biden said.
He added: “If we win, will turn things around. There will begin to be consensus.”
“What the other team has done so skillfully over the last 15 years is convince our folks that it’s not worth voting,” he said. “Rich guys never get fooled that it’s not worth voting. They always show up and vote. But they tell our folks it doesn’t matter, that government doesn’t work anyway.”
At one point referring to himself as “Joe Biden, progressive Democrat,” Biden pointed to gains in manufacturing jobs under President Barack Obama, but said the middle class still ” has not come back yet.”
“You can see it in the eyes of your parishioners,” he said. “It’s not just in black America, it’s white America as well. People are wondering, when is it going to be ok?”
“Corporate profits have soared,” Biden said, criticizing “these guys running hedge funds in New York.” He noted that the top one percent of earners in the United States make almost a quarter of all the money earned in the country. “How can that possibly be fair?,” he asked.
“The biggest problem is income inequality,” he said, echoing populist-themed remarks he made at a South Carolina fundraiser earlier this year. “Because when income inequality spreads, economies shrink because folks don’t have money to spend.”
There is so much wrong with the things Biden said here… it’s hard to know where to start.
Biden starts by calling the modern Republican Party crazy and immoral; this is something Democrats have been doing amongst themselves for the entire stretch of the Obama Presidency. They mockingly claim that the modern Republican Party is “different” from the Republicans of years past and that our base today is something akin to evil. We are racists, homophobes, anti-poor, misogynists… so we must be immoral.
But of course we know the truth, don’t we?
It is the Democrat Party that has drifted far from what it used to be. It is the Democrat Party that has become the purveyor of immorality and licentiousness. The Democrat Party used to be FOR traditional marriage, the Democrat Party used to be AGAINST killing innocent people (like babies in the womb), the Democrat Party used to be against deficits and deficit spending… in fact everything Joe Biden says here is actually applicable to the Democrat Party.
The Democrats have been overtaken by the most liberal wing of the Party. Today they believe Barack Obama to be a moderate Democrat and men like Mitt Romney and John McCain are labeled conservatives! We seem to officially have entered the Twilight Zone….
Biden continues by claiming that a Democrat victory would make everything better… seemingly forgetting that Democrats have controlled the Senate for almost 10 years now! In fact, the first two years of the Obama era the President enjoyed a supermajority in the Senate and a majority in the House — and got nothing accomplished. NOTHING good that is…
Biden’s next trick is to discuss the Republican Party as the Party of the rich – a canard that has been disproven again and again. Let me give you a few examples…
- Congressional Democrats are wealthier than their counterparts.
- Democrats have more wealthy donors than their counterparts.
- Of the 10 richest zip codes in American… 8 support the Democrats.
- By many measures Democrats are the new Party of the Rich.
The last one may be my favorite Democrat talking point. The “income inequality story.” Income inequality is only a problem when the rich are getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer. Under conservative leadership (like Ronald Reagan’s) that doesn’t happen – Reaganomics tells us that a “rising tide raises all ships.” Generally over the last 30 years of more conservative economic leadership the United States has seen the rich get richer… but we’ve also seen the poor and the middle class get richer as well.
That is, until the Obama administration came along. Under President Obama the “wealth gap” has become wider than ever! Liberal leadership makes income inequality worse – because it costs jobs and money for the middle class and poor.
The truth is that Joe Biden and his boss are both wrong and have been for years. Biden’s disgusting remarks about conservatives have no basis in fact, but they are a projection of what is actually occurring in the Democrat Party. Simply look at their leaders – Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid — these are a virtual “Murderer’s Row” of corrupt Liberal politicians. With leaders like this, it’s no wonder the Democrat Party has collapsed under the weight of it’s own immorality. I mean, what does it say about your party when Bill Clinton looks like a moral and upright citizen compared to your current leaders?
