We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!
It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.
So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Monday September 15, 2014.
Irony? You know how Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) was totally against that horrible Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) and how a few months ago one of his chief advisors, Susan Rice, said it wasn’t operative anymore? Well, forget all that. President Obama is planning to use the AUMF as his “go ahead” for attacking ISIS in Iraq and Sryia. (Hypocrisy much, Obama?)
Déjá vu! John Kerry is flip-flopping… AGAIN!
Meanwhile, apparently several Arab countries have offered to carry out airstrikes in Iraq and Syria in a concerted international effort to fight against ISIS.
NBC News is reporting that a recent poll they conducted shows that a “vast majority” of Americans have little confidence that President Obama can achieve his stated goals of degrading and eliminating the ISIS threat. What is a “vast majority?” Almost 70% of Americans doubt Obama.
One week in and the fragile cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine seems to be holding… but Ukraine’s leaders aren’t relaxing… their Prime Minister recently said that he believes Vladimir Putin and Russia intend to conquer “all of Ukraine” sooner or later.
Could Ted Cruz have been misguided in his efforts to praise Israel in front of Middle Eastern Christians?
Senator Marco Rubio is getting tough on the border! It may be too little too late for the former Gang of 8 member… but he’s doing his best to make conservatives forget that he once sided with amnesty-lovers John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
The Pope says that we are in the midst of WW III.
