Two weeks ago the monstrous Muslim terrorists known as ISIS released a video wherein they showed the brutal beheading of American journalist James Foley. In that video they also informed America that they planned to murder another American journalist, Steven Sotloff, the following week.
It now seems that ISIS has indeed carried out that threat and have murdered Mr. Sotloff.
From the UK’s Daily Mail:
In the video entitled ‘A Second Message to America,’ Sotloff appears in a orange jumpsuit before he is beheaded by an Islamic State fighter…
The man believed to be ‘Jihadi John’ – the same militant who killed James Foley and suspected to be Briton Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary – then taunts Obama on camera.
He says: ‘As your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike necks of your people.’
‘I’m back Obama, and I’m back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic state, because of your insistence on continuing your bombings and … on Mosul Dam, despite our serious warnings. You Obama, have but to gain from your actions but another American citizen. So just as your missiles continue to strike out people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people.’
Two hours after the video was released, Mr. Sotloff’s family issued a statement to say they believe he has been killed.
‘The family knows of this horrific tragedy and is grieving privately. There will be no public comment from the family during this difficult time,’ the statements said.
In the video the ISIS executioner also introduces us to their next victim – a British national who they are threatening to kill next.
It is maddening to me that the monsters who did this actually believe their actions to be justified. The murder of an innocent man for the perceived crimes of the nation in which he was born makes absolutely no sense.
This is not “justice;” it is cold-blooded murder.
The President was preparing to leave for Estonia when news of Sotloff’s death broke, so he was unable to respond to the situation. The White House did release a statement through spokesman Josh Earnest:
“This is something that the administration has obviously been watching very carefully since this threat against Mr. Sotloff’s life was originally made a few weeks ago,” Earnest said. “Our thoughts and prayers first and foremost are with Mr. Sotloff and Mr. Sotloff’s family and those who worked with him.”
We echo those sentiments. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Steven Sotloff and we hope that they will find comfort through these horrible circumstances.
We are also praying for justice. We are pleading with our elected leaders to bring justice to the families of the many thousands slaughtered at the hands of the Muslim terrorist fiends.
