What We’re Reading September 3, 2014
We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!
It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.
So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday September 3, 2014.
How does President Obama not yet have a “strategy” for dealing with ISIS… when he’s been briefed about them for well over a year?
GOP faithful have long prayed that 2014 would be another WAVE election, maybe not as historic as our crushing victories in 2010, but still a walloping. Politico says the probability of a wave may now be minimal. Also, can the people who keep voting for politicians they think are doing a bad job, please stop voting!?!
Part of the problem could be the explosion of anarchy all over the world and our, thus far, impotent response to these problems. The GOP had hoped the time had come to pull back from involvement all over the globe… but it seems that may not be as possible as we hoped. GOP doves are becoming hawkish again.
Does Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stand a chance at reforming our criminal justice system? If he can – the GOP may just win a few more votes from African-Americans.
Something is obviously wrong when a man can be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life for purchasing marijuana. I mean, it’s not even illegal in every state!
At least a dozen Libyan jetliners have gone missing and this has our government very worried about the possibility of a terrorist attack on the 9/11 anniversary.
Ukraine has halted offensive operations against the Russian-backed rebels and has begun to dig in defensively as they prepare for a Russian attack.
