I’m not sure if any of you have noticed the recent media obsession with Republicans “possibly” impeaching President Obama. I’ve noticed, but not because I’m seeing an uptick in conservative demands of impeachment. In fact, just the opposite. In recent days I’ve noticed a lot of DEMOCRATS wringing their hands over calls for impeachment that haven’t been made. At least not by Republicans who can do anything about it.
Two noted liberals, Chuck Todd and Nate Silver, both expose the ridiculous nature of Democrat concerns about Republicans possibly impeaching President Obama.
First, Chuck Todd says that Democrats should be ashamed of their little impeachment charade. (Then like a true liberal he says Republicans should be ashamed too – though for a completely separate and unrelated issue.)
And now Nate Silver, formerly of the New York Times, shows us with a striking graphic who is really “obsessed” with the whole impeachment nonsense.
(Spolier Alert – it’s MSNBC and the Democrat Party.)
I agree with the Democrats (and MSNBC) who are worried about impeachment. Obama is absolutely terrible and should be replaced posthaste. However, to blame Republican calls for impeachment as the reason for their concern is disingenuous at best. Everyone knows that this Republican Party doesn’t have the guts or the heart for that kind of fight.
So, no. The Republicans are not trying to impeach President Obama. The Republicans are keeping their heads down and doing as little as possible to rock the boat in hopes of winning another wave election in November. That doesn’t mean that liberals won’t keep trying to trick the average voter — you should fully expect the Democrats and MSNBC to keep trying to sell these types of false narratives in an effort to get their base riled up and out to the polls.
