What Would the World be Like without America?

Dinesh D’Souza’s new book, “America: What Would the World Be Without Her” is available now, and the film, based upon it, will be in 1100 USA theaters beginning July 2, with tickets already being sold. The film has been well-reviewed by talk show host Michael Medved. This writer has not yet seen it.

However, this reporter interviewed D’Souza in person and audited his speech at a recent conference in Orange County, CA.

The charming conservative author, filmmaker, public intellectual and champion of “America as founded,” was enthusiastically applauded before he had uttered a word as guest speaker. In fact, he received a standing ovation just for showing up.

No doubt the crowd was expressing appreciation for his 25-year career in stalwart defense of his adopted country, the United States of America.

Born in Bombay, (now Mumbai), India, 1961 to Goan Catholic parents, D’Souza fell in love with America as a student at Dartmouth College. Ever since, as a policy analyst in the Reagan White House, as scholar at various entities, including the Hoover Institution, the American Enterprise Institute and president of The King’s College, he has used his considerable talents and deep respect for America, in its service.

Many know D’Souza as a New York Times best-selling author of more than a dozen books, such as: “Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream”; “Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became an Extraordinary Leader”; “The Roots of Obama’s Rage” (documentary film, “2016: Obama’s America”) and the newest,   “America…”

Shining_City_Upon_Hill-American-ExceptionalismIn his new book and film, D’Souza brings to mind a modern Paul Revere, sounding the alarm to take up against those who want to remake America, which, as he says, “…you would first have to unmake America.” D’Souza points out the public pronouncements of President Barack Obama, with the intention of “transforming” the Founders’ America. Transforming it to what was not articulated, but the results of the past years give enough clues.

Revealing the underpinnings of the Left’s foundation is what D’Souza is doing in his work. In his film, according to advance reviews, he shows the ideology of the Left knocking America for various “sins” to insist it is not worthy to occupy the position of esteem and power it has attained through its benevolent actions around the world.

If America didn’t exist, D’Souza’s theme in his book & film, perhaps we’d all be speaking German. Who would have stood against the Nazi and Japanese Imperialism?

In the last century, with its heroic actions in WWI and WWII, America saved the world. Remember it was Ronald Reagan, together with Margaret Thatcher, who pulled the supporting bricks out from under the Berlin Wall, effectively dismantling, in 1989, communist control in Russia and Eastern Europe.

The Left says – “Never mind all that.”

D’Souza’s book and film addresses and knocks out – through dramatic scenes and interviews with various Leftists – the grudge list of the progressives in its determination to kill America as founded.

The Left’s favorite ploy is to state – without supporting evidence – that everything America has, everything each individual has – was gained through theft.

Hence Obama’s rude remark to Joe the Plumber, “You didn’t build that.”

Joe, being attacked in public by the president of the United States, was far too well-bred to refute the untruth of that accusation. So TV spread that lie far and wide.

D’Souza stated, in a larger discussion of capitalism –  “In India, as a poor boy, if I had ten marbles and I wanted more, I had no way of getting them unless I took them from other boys.” But when people are given opportunities, in a free society, there can be creations of new businesses, employing people and in the process actually creates more “marbles” or wealth.

He points out how conservatives have allowed the Left to use the highest human value – justice – in their cause. When in fact, the USA’s Founding documents site “justice” and “injustice” far more than “freedom.”

He is clear that conservatives/Republicans are off track when they incorrectly assign the terms “misguided” or “incompetent” to Leftists/Dems.

american declineObama is doing what he stated he would do…”transform America.” Turning it to dust from its former glorious self. Americans are outraged.

With a sure understanding of what their actions will do – such as letting millions of criminals/illegals into the USA – the Leftists/Democrats act with intention.

They are working to provide endless voters for the Dems, making it possible for them to achieve eternal power. They are using class envy and other methods for changing how America sees itself and how it will proceed.

“We must find new solutions,” D’Souza believes. “Our problems are new.”

What is needed is determination and a clear understanding of how to defeat those who are killing America as founded.

The conservatives/Republicans must all join together to do this.

When ancient Rome could not conquer sea-power Carthage because it had no navy and didn’t know how to build ships, it used its prodigious intelligence, determination and ingenuity. The second century B.C. Greek historian, Polybius, wrote how Rome used a captured wrecked Carthaginian ship as a model. In two months it built 100 large war ships and 20 smaller ships. While the ships were being built, men were trained on land to row efficiently to the beat of the keleustes.

No time was wasted…when the ships were complete, the rowers trained, into the sea they went to battle the enemy.

This show of determination for victory is what Americans are seeking and what D’Souza is trying to illuminate. Americans are seeking conservative leaders who understand this need to battle and defeat the enemy. Not to compromise. Rome could not compromise with Carthage…only one could win.

America as founded can be saved.

After all, America saved the Western World twice in the last century. It can save itself. It must…as there is no one else to do it.
