Homeowner Stops Robbery with AR-15

Has anyone else noticed how more and more crimes are being prevented with firearms? It’s astonishing that as our nation seems to free-up law abiding citizens to protect themselves, they seem to be doing just that. Protecting themselves.

Well, it’s happened again.

The difference this time around is that the homeowner used his AR-15 to protect his home and himself. Why is that important? It wasn’t too long ago that the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, was telling us how ineffective an AR-15 was as an assault weapon.

However, Biden is wrong. A shotgun may be preferable for some for home defense, but for others the AR-15 is the better choice. Case in point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gRFYn-_zmA#action=share

A Henderson, a North Carolina man, woke up Monday morning to the sound of someone trying to gain access to his home. The homeowner ignored what he thought was someone knocking but then the intruder kicked his way into the home.

“I heard the loud bang in the laundry room area. I crouched down, grabbed the firearm and was walking up the hallway. As soon as I poked my head around the corner I saw a tall male standing there with a gun. He shot first, I shot second. He missed and I reckon I connected. I guess I did the right thing. I just reacted the best way possible.”

The homeowner did indeed “connect” with the intruder who got out of the house but collapsed a short while later. Local police also caught the man’s accomplice who was waiting for the man outside in his car.

So there you have it. An AR-15 used for home defense proves itself equal to the task of helping a homeowner defend his home against an armed assailant.

So Mr. Vice President… do you have any other useless advice for Americans whose rights you’d like to strip?

Yeah Jill, go out side and fire that double barrel shotgun out into nothing… Maybe you’ll hit a deer in the yard, or the kids in the neighborhood running through your property!
If someone who wants to get inside, the worst thing is to go outside. And you never fire your gun without a target in your sight and knowing what the backstop is.
A gun is a gun..For anyone to restrict what I use and own for protecting myself against criminals is no ones business…
And if I took Joe’s advice, I’d be dead or in jail for shooting someone in the dark, outside..

  • hollygreen9

I would preferably use my AR 10. It has much more hitting power, and the guy would not be running out of the house before falling. Joe Biden is an idiot, as most have already figure out, and should NEVER be taken seriously.

    • flagmantexasmarine

      my AR15 works great too

      • hollygreen9

        I also have an AR 15, but I prefer the .308. (AR 10 & XM 21)

        • flagmantexasmarine

I use my mosin nagant 7.62×54 for long range

          • Josiah Victor Hoffman

That is one hell of a round, great trajectory, and when using the steel core ammo…penetration is incredible. With slight modifications on a M91/30 I could hold groups of 4 to 6 inches at five hundred yards in all types of weather with no problem. If you shim the trigger tension spring you also can get some really smooth and great trigger action.
            Semper Fi flagman!

  • Wayne

Great thinking from Mr. BB Brain Biden! Send your wife outside to shoot the ONLY two shots she has in her double barreled shotgun. By design, double barreled shotguns have no magazine, they hold ONLY two rounds, one in each chamber. Once she has shot them both in the air, the thug can take her out! You, Mr. Biden are a BB Brain.

    • WVF

Wayne, wow, you are giving Biden a lot of benefit of doubt. I had no idea his brain might be that large!

    • DetroitDom

You think that idiot Biden knows that a shotgun has only two shots? As a typical liberal, he probably assumes it has a 30-round magazine attached to it.

  • DetroitDom

Waiting for Obozo to take the podium and tell everyone how this young man who was shot by an “illegal” gun could have been his future son-in-law.

This story provides proof that we all need sniper rifles too. That way, the home owner could have taken out the prick waiting in the get-away car and save taxpayers even more money.

  • robocop33

Glad that this homeowner was able to protect himself from these criminals with the use of his legally owned firearm. Another life saved by the Armed Citizen!

  • tell the truth

Interesting editing f the text –
If you watch the video, he distinctly says he turned the corner and saw “a black gentleman” who then fired upon him.

The man’s verbatim quote has been CHANGED in the text in the article – “I poked my head around the corner I saw a tall male standing there with a gun.”

Why do they try to hide the race of criminals, even to the point of lying about a person’s exact words.

    • WVF

tell the truth, this is a practice which has been going on for at least the past two decades. Newspapers are famous for hiding the race of a criminal, unless it is a white person.

    • Onan Coca

      Just quoting the article.

  • cowgirl20

Biden says to fire your only 2 shots into the air to “scare” them away, and if that doesn’t work, we are suppose to throw up and pee on them. Yep, he is a nutcase alright.

  • toto

Why heck , that could have been obumbas son ! if it had any…

  • WVF

This guy made a huge mistake by not killing this black man. Now, the intruder will sue him and win!

    • afanaglenn

If that’s the case then someone needs to finish the job.

      • WVF

I couldn’t agree with you more.

  • The Truth

Notice that the writer of the article had the balls to change the guys own words and then use quotation marks. He distinctly said “a BLACK man”.

  • Vivian White

If you’re being assaulted I think this rifle would work just fine.

  • threeball

Has biden ever had an MRI,not only for a brain tumor, but as a possible offspring of the “missing link” some claim we came from, you know, the ape who came out of the tree and miraculously eluded ALL the lions, cheetas, vipers, crocs etc,he cannot possibly have a measurable IQ.

    • drbhelthi

Yes. Mr. Biden is one of those sad cases. He was once a patriot. Quite a few years ago. I wonder if the NAZI CIA, which has taken on a muslim twist, gave Mr. Joe B. the fatal choice of “do it, or else” ?

  • seeymour kleerly

Why not bazookas? What silly and dangerous propaganda!

    • Art Zacher

      Shells are too expensive.

      • Rob Andersplus

But, ya probably only need one??

    • $104618240

Not so silly when an uninvited “visitor” is in your home, getting ready to rape, rob, pillage and murder you and your family.

    • john h

A Bazooka is to CLUMSY , SILLY & you need a Loader . RPG is better

      • seeymour kleerly

        Good point!

      • kopl

        A molotov cocktail…

    • Cicero

seeymour has kleerly been drinking the coolaid. Would probably cry and wet herself when someone breaks into her home. Believes in waiting for the police and coroner to come and take her body to the morgue rather than defending herself. A real role model.

      • seeymour kleerly

Simplistic yet again! I’m pro guns for home protection and anti automatic mass murder weapons.

        • Larry

By your own comment you are not pro gun. To be pro gun, one must not make a determination as to what gun someone wants to own. To think the way you think, it will be very easy to change what someone can own. Call me a gun nut if you like, where in the Constitution does it state limitation of the type of firearm that can be owned? Just remember, the Founders owned the best and latest firearms of their day. We must always remember, yes we have the right to defend ourselves, but remember, we have a responsibility to protect our nation against both foreign and domestic enemies. If limited to what we may own, limits our ability to defend ourselves and protect our nation. If you o no want or like a type of firearm, do not restrict someone else of their right to own what they want.

          • seeymour kleerly

The founders would not have intended to allow AR-15 for public use!

    • drbhelthi

Blind seeymour, MRitter and Ellen. Consistent brain-farters. All running on Obama fumes, which are about to trickle to the end _ _ _ .

  • patriotrenegade

Drunken joe, CFR, any other questions?

  • dave

Hopefully the puke that broke in will die from his injury !!

  • Igor

Hey, nuttin’ wrong with a Mossberg 950… although a 930 SPX is more fun…

  • afanaglenn

    Hope the guy is dead.

  • Dasgeiss

Any gun in the hands of a competent user is worthwhile. An M1 Garand rifle works fine also. A M1-A1 also works fine. So does a 1911 .45 or a Ruger .357. A double barrel shotgun will also do the job very well and can be shot from the hip with deadly accuracy; especially in a dark room where the perp is hardly visible. From 30 feet the spread will get him/her.

    • drbhelthi

What about the old, “grease gun” ? I guess not many are in civilian hands.

      • Dasgeiss

Oh that would work quite well! Problem is, one hell of a lot of construction work to follow like 100 holes in the walls! LOL

  • Beepster

My closest weapon is a Kahr 9mm on my night stand with Home Defense loads. Two steps away is my 12ga pump loaded with #4 shot. With the shotgun, I’d shoot for the head (which would include the neck), and the 9mm for the pelvic region.

  • rikker45

So Mr. Coca why did you change the story from the victim “saw a black gentleman” standing there to he “saw a tall male” standing there? no balls or what?

    • ewcef

everyone says coca is just another minion on another agency website to further compound the confusion and division. has anyone ever met and talked to this guy his photo prolly isn’t him. remember those youths raping little kids and throwing there violated bodies in new Orleans weren’t identified racially either, belgian newspaper sure did tho

      • rikker45

I certainly have never met him, that is why I question his writings. I just don’t trust what anybody writes any more.

      • jessica22

“Everyone says Coca is…” Not everyone says that. I never have.

    • jessica22

The race of the criminal was irrelevant to the story and I’d guess Mr. Coca hoped to make the point (unrestricted availability of firearm) without raising racial overtones. I think he made a good decision.

      • rikker45

Access to firearms is very restricted, though liberals don’t think so. You have to pass a background check, no criminal background etc., be the correct age for handguns and kn many states you have to pay the state for a permit, or license just to own a gun. Also the cost is pretty high these days, and since obummer spends like a drunk sailor and the fed keeps printing fake money the dollar is worthless, and inflation is higher than ever.

    • Jason

He’s just quoting the original article by WRAL. Which did get it wrong

  • ONTIME

Have you noticed there are more criminal acts being committed with illegal weapons and those who have the legal weapons to defend themselves are finding they have to use that ability?
The RTC is pro life and it is anti criminal, today and in this time when the government is not your friend and untrustworthy it is also a threat to tyrants…..

Have you thought about demanding that all those elected and appointed officials in the government who are given tax paid security, have that benefit removed and make them responsible for their own security…? it’s called parity and it would put the 2nd amendment in a proper perspective….

  • colsooonscoorner

    Equalizers are a good thing.

  • Sunshine Kid

Remember that police don’t prevent crime; they only clean up the mess and do the paperwork after the crime has been committed. When seconds count, police are not available. Besides, they don’t want to be shot at any more than the homeowner does, so they’ll come by after it’s all over and file charges against the homeowner if they can figure out how to make the charges stick. After all, homeowners are less likely to shoot the police than any criminal would.

    • slk5

a 911 call takes minutes, a bullit takes a split second!!!

    • Reverend Joe Ruyle

I actually saw a bumper sticker on the back of a police car that summed it all up perfectly…… “When seconds count we’re only minutes away.”

My property in Texas is clearly marked with “No Trespassing” signs and purple paint on all corner fence posts and at all points of entry. (gates) Texas has the “castle law” which permits us to defend not only or lives and the lives of others…. but also our property. You can screw up and walk onto our place uninvited…… but if you’re up to no good….. you won’t have to worry about walking back out. Someone will carry you.

  • slk5

not a word from the socialist/communist media!!!

    • https://disqus.com/home/channel/wewritepoetrychallengeforum/ DENavarro

There have been hundreds of home defenses and thwarted crimes by the legal use of firearms that the media never touches.

  • slk5

    i love happy endings!!!

  • https://disqus.com/home/channel/wewritepoetrychallengeforum/ DENavarro

Biden is just an abbreviation for Bin Laden. Take out the “nla” and you have Biden.

  • Grtgrandpa-Tom

Good shooting. Maybe the home owner will have to repair some sheetrock, but well worth it. Did the home defender unload a full magazine? I have a 9mm Smith & Wesson Shield, and a Smith & Wesson Body Guard with Laser for home and personal defense together with a concealed carry permit. A sign on my front door shows a picture of a pistol and says: THIS HOUSE IS PROTECTED BY GOD AND A GUN, COME IN UNINVITED AND MEET THEM BOTH. Signed: a Vietnam War Dog. 101st Airborne Division – Screaming Eagles.

  • Grtgrandpa-Tom

Obama doesn’t need a gun, he killed Osama Bin Ladin with his bare hands. (JOKE).

  • ABBAsFernando

VILE LIBERAL SCUM are on the side of the CRIMINAL due to the FACT they are CRIMINALS themselves.

  • vinagaroon

I have equalizers, come on in uninvited you fuking scum

  • http://www.survivingurbancrisis.com/ Silas Longshot

Pistol trumps knife. Rifle trumps pistol. Good thing he didn’t just get up and answer the door, he may be dead if he had done so, with that chump standing there with a gun. I’ll be his ears will be ringing for weeks….I’ve fired a .223 indoors without ear protection before. You won’t hear a thing for about half an hour afterwards.
