Woman Protects Home with Shotgun

You don’t expect stories of armed citizens defending their homes to come from California – but this time that’s exactly what we’re getting.

Los Angeles Local News | FOX 11 LA KTTV

A California woman woke up to the sound of her dog barking early Sunday morning at around 3 am. When she looked outside to see what had gotten her pet so agitated, she saw a man in her backyard and another man waiting by a car. Knowing what was about to happen, she quickly grabbed her shotgun and made her way outside to confront the two thugs.

Wearing just her nightgown and carrying her shotgun, she stepped out and fired once at the ground in an attempt to scare the men away. She did just that. The two suspects ran to the waiting car and drove away as quick as they could. As they fled the homeowner says she heard one of them scream “Crazy B**** has a gun!”

When asked about the incident, this homeowner said “I’m not a sitting duck!”

Police say that around the same time two men broke into and robbed another home just a couple of blocks away. They believe the two incidents to be related.

Interesting how the home with a gun didn’t get robbed, while the home without… did. It’s funny how that works, no?

The truth of the matter is simple. Police are not able to prevent crimes – they are mainly concerned with bringing justice once a crime has been committed. If you want to ensure that you are not the victim of a crime, you must be able to defend yourself. Gun owners are much more likely to not be victims than those who choose to not own a firearm. And the reasons shouldn’t be difficult to understand.
