In what will likely be a moment that liberals cling to, media mogul and conservative icon Glenn Beck said the words that all liberals had already been saying for years.
“I think I played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart.”
“I remember it as an awful lot of fun and that I made an awful lot of mistakes, and I wish I could go back and be more uniting in my language. I think I played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart. It’s not who we are. I didn’t realize how really fragile the people were, I thought we were kind of more in it together. Now I look back and I realize if we could have talked about the uniting principles a little more instead of the problems, I think I would look back on it a little more fondly. But that’s only my role.”
It takes a serious person to be able to analyze their decisions and be insightful enough to notice their mistakes. It takes an honest man to be able to admit those mistakes and be willing to tell the world about them, especially when he knows his enemies will use his words against him.
Whatever you may think about Glenn Beck and his personality or politics, there must be an understanding that he speaks for millions of Americans. There are a lot of folks out there who feel as though the liberal wing of our country is hell-bent on driving our nation over a cliff. Here at Eagle Rising we hold many (or most) of the same positions as Mr. Beck, though we may try to be a little less melodramatic in our delivery. Nevertheless, we are very thankful for both his work and his willingness to be transparent about his mistakes.
Mr. Beck – don’t allow your past mistakes to slow you in your future endeavors. Keep fighting for conservative values and for the rights and liberties of all Americans… even the ones that disagree with us.
