Chris Cuomo Complains to Trump: ‘Fake News is the Worst Thing You Can Call a Journalist’ [VIDEO]

Written by Philip Hodges

In response to the same interview with Chris Cuomo where Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal said we’re ‘careening, literally, towards a Constitutional crisis,’ and that Judge Gorsuch told him that the President’s comments on the ‘so-called judge’ were disheartening and demoralizing, Trump tweeted out:

In addition, Trump tweeted out that Cuomo didn’t ask Blumenthal about his military record, and then labeled Cuomo ‘fake news.’

Cuomo took the bait and responded to the President, pointing out that that was actually the first thing that he brought up with Blumenthal. Predictably, Blumenthal didn’t respond to it at all, but Cuomo brought it up.

Then, Cuomo started complaining about being called ‘fake news.’

“The president – with all due respect – is once again off on the facts. And that’s not something that any of us have any desire to say on a regular basis, but it keeps being true,” Cuomo said.

“‘Fake news’ is the worst thing that you can call a journalist. It’s like an ethnic disparagement. We all have these ugly words for people, and that’s the one for journalists.” He added, “He just keeps doubling down when the facts don’t favor his position.”

‘Ethnic disparagement,’ huh? But it’s also something that he can call others who say things that he doesn’t like? He can call others ‘fake news,’ but no one should call him that? Is this like saying that black people can use the ‘n-word,’ but others can’t?

Probably none of this would have happened had the mainstream media not concocted this ‘fake news’ idea in the first place. They’ve created a monster, and it’s backfiring.

Maybe Trump meant that Cuomo didn’t press Blumenthal about his military background. Or, maybe he didn’t see that part of the interview.

I think Trump is totally trolling the media, sending them on these frivolous tangents. It’s not like he hasn’t done that before. If Chris Cuomo doesn’t like it, he and the rest of the media should stop taking the bait.
