Apparently, these memos have been circulating for the past several months, even before the presidential election. They were reported on by Mother Jones in late October, but they’ve been brought to the forefront now allegedly because the intelligence community has vetted the source.
A 35-page dossier of damaging and embarrassing allegations directed at Donald Trump was compiled by a former British spy last year. This former MI6 agent had been hired initially by anti-Trump Republicans to investigate Trump for opposition research purposes. He was later employed by Democrat entities.
CNN reported about this dossier on Tuesday, but they didn’t give any specific details, because they haven’t been able to verify them. BuzzFeed, however, despite acknowledging that the entire thing might be fake, decided to go ahead and publish the entire 35-page memo “so that Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government.” BuzzFeed even had this caveat at the top of their article:
“A dossier, compiled by a person who has claimed to be a former British intelligence official, alleges Russia has compromising information on Trump. The allegations are unverified, and the report contains errors.”
According to the memo, Russia has damaging information – related to finances, business, and “sexual perversions” – on Donald Trump that they intend to use in order to blackmail him if the need arises.
Part of the compilation alleges that when Trump was in Moscow staying at the Ritz Carlton hotel, he had paid for prostitutes to urinate on a bed that Trump knew the Obamas had slept in. According to the report, he did this, because he “hated” the Obamas. There’s allegedly surveillance footage of this incident that’s in the hands of the Russians. According to the report:
“However, there were other aspects to TRUMP’s engagement with the Russian authorities. One which had borne fruit for them was to exploit TRUMP’s personal obsessions and sexual perversions in order to obtain suitable ‘kompromat’ (compromising material) on him. According to Source D, where s/he had been present, TRUMP’s perverted conduct in Moscow included hiring the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where he knew President and Mrs. OBAMA (whom he hated) had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a ‘golden showers’ (urination) show in front of him. The hotel was known to be under FSB control with microphones and concealed cameras in all the main rooms to record anything they wanted to.”
In addition, according to the compilation, the Russians had been “cultivating, supporting and assisting” Trump for five years.
No one – not even in the U.S. intelligence community – have been able to verify the specific allegations. CNN only picked up the story, because the intelligence community had supposedly vetted the source – the former British spy – and consider him or her to be “credible.” But not even CNN was going to publish the ridiculous and unverified specific accounts of someone just because that someone claimed to be a former “intelligence” official of the U.K.
Leave it to clickbait giant BuzzFeed to publish it all, knowing full well what damage these unsubstantiated rumors could do, regardless of the fake news site’s token attempts to caution their readers.
BuzzFeed said they published it so that Americans can decide for themselves. And how is that even possible? It’s all hearsay at best. For all we know, it was completely made up. Some of it is unverifiable. This is the epitome of fake news.
