Comey Called Trump to Say There was no Credible Evidence Russia Influenced the Election

Written by Onan Coca

Celebrated journalist and author Edward Klein recently published a shocking story that doesn’t seem to be getting much traction in the mainstream media.

Klein who was once the Editor-in-Chief at the New York Times and has written such important books as The Truth about Hillary and Unlikeable: the Problem with Hillary, recently wrote about an important phone call between President-elect Donald Trump and FBI Director James Comey.

In telephone conversations with Donald Trump, FBI Director James Comey assured the president-elect there was no credible evidence that Russia influenced the outcome of the recent U.S. presidential election by hacking the Democratic National Committee and the e-mails of John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

What’s more, Comey told Trump that James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, agreed with this FBI assessment.

Just as important, Klein notes that the ONLY leading member of the U.S. intelligence community who is ready to say that the Russians had “sanctioned” the hack during the 2016 elections was CIA chief John Brennan. The problem with this? Brennan is well-known to be a loyal soldier to President Barack Obama. Klein’s source quoted Comey, who said “Brennan takes his marching orders from President Obama.”

(Yes, this is the same John Brennan who once voted for the Communist candidate for President. Which could explain why he is so devoted to President Obama and the Democrat Party today.)

The FBI Director is also known to believe that the recent CIA leaks to the New York Times, and the Washington Post were deliberately done to undermine Trump’s transition to the White House.

Congressman Peter King (R-NY) agreed with this assessment, wondering if there was a serious disinformation campaign being carried about by the administration to discredit Trump.

With FBI Director Comey, DNI chief Clapper, and the rest of the intelligence community in agreement, one has to wonder why the media has chosen to take the unverified claim that someone at the CIA believes Russia was behind the DNC/Hillary Campaign leaks? Wouldn’t it make more sense for the media to trust the multiple intelligence sources who disagree with the CIA?

UPDATE:

Prior to publication the Washington Post was reporting that the FBI was now in agreement with the CIA about Russia’s “interference.” However, as of publication there was no independent confirmation of this assertion from the FBI.

Comey’s support for the CIA’s conclusion — and officials say that he never changed his position — suggests that the leaders of the three agencies are in agreement on Russian intentions, contrary to suggestions by some lawmakers that the FBI disagreed with the CIA.

“Earlier this week, I met separately with (Director) FBI James Comey and DNI Jim Clapper, and there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election,” CIA Director John Brennan said in a message to the agency’s workforce, according to U.S. officials who have seen the message…

CIA and FBI officials do not think Russia had a “single purpose” by intervening during the presidential campaign. In addition to helping Trump, intelligence officials have told lawmakers that Moscow’s other goal included undermining confidence in the U.S. electoral system.
