Must be the Season of the Jolly Witch

David Lawrence
Written by David Lawrence

LOOKING LIKE DONOVAN

Must be the season of the jolly witch. I am hunting for a good haunting.

Life is both my ghost and goblin.

At twenty I used to look like Donovan

And girls used to chase me.

“…when I look in my window

So many different people to be.”

That’s me

“And it’s strange, so strange/ You got to pick up every stitch.” Must be the season of the jolly witch.”

And Donovan was right,

“Beatniks are out to make it rich.”

Politicians too.

Must be the season of the witch and

America has become a bitch

Where capitalists like millionaire Hillary And Bernie Sanders and De Blasio

Play socialists to get votes from idiots.

They play income inequality like a harmonica.

Millennium babies

Transform Donovan into the season

Of the progressive bi***.
