Tangoing Toward Terror

This is another “Stupid Cartoon.” Michaelangelo once said he was only “stupidly copying nature” in his work.  This cartoon does the same thing. I have simply stupidly copied nature …or Fox News. I was minding my own business dining at a local eatery when I saw Obama (trying to) tango in Brazil…or somewhere. It nearly tossed my delicious mushroom and onion soup. (This joint has the best soups in town.) But I conquered my tummy’s desire to regurgitate and started this cartoon on a napkin. It’s a little grainier than usual, but that’s an artist’s quibble. there was the “Leader of The Free World” (an unofficial title he would probably disavow) tangoing the night away with some professional who had probably been paid to make the Pez look good. His footwork was minimalist (like modern architecture is supposed to be). He seemed a little ill at ease. Maybe because he doesn’t like any sort of scrutiny unless it is completely orchestrated. I mean…how does a teleprompter help you tango? It’s just you. He was pretty uninspiring on the dance floor…but, maybe I’m just saying that because I recently laughed myself silly watching “Lovejoy” tango with some cutie in London on the BBC show of the same name. And his dance partner was not lacking in flamboyance…right out of the gate. She seemed unafraid to out show her partner, Lovejoy, whereas, Obama’s dance partner was noticeably subdued. She was probably some shill hired and vetted for the event by the media. They are always very careful that the Boss doesn’t look bad.

(Lovejoy kills me.) (Obama bores me.)

Maybe he was just uncomfortable in the close proximity of a female. The whole scenario was innocent enough. His androgynous wifey was only a few feet away, also butchering the tango. I’ve long suspected he has an aversion to women. But it’s only because we have never heard any females from his past come forward with accolades regarding his dancing prowess. Or any other prowess regarding the softer gender. Just like no one has ever come forward with stories about how they loved his professorial skills in Constitutional Law. But that’s another story.

I wonder if he pays lawyers a lot of money to hide/seal his dance cards?

Anyway…the cartoon is “stupid” primarily because it depicts something stupid.  Brussels burns and Obama tangoes. That is stupid. He justifies his apparent determination to not allow Islamic Terrorists to disrupt his lifestyle (on our dime), by telling us “we shouldn’t allow [Islamic] terrorists to disrupt our lives…because that’s what they are trying to do with their [Islamic] terrorist acts.”  However, most Americans already understand this. At least the ones who believe Islamic Terror is being perpetrated upon us. But, in perilous times some of us cannot go about our regular lives as if the camel’s creepy nose isn’t already protruding inside… way, way past the bottom of the tent flap. And those same Americans expect our “Leader” to do much more than attend Cuban baseball games, make silly speeches flattering the murderous Fidel and Socialism in the “[Starving] Workers’ Paradise.”  Brussels is burning …as is most of Europe. The problem didn’t start …or end with Van Gogh’s nephew getting a butcher knife in the chest.  Bad stuff has only just begun. Jefferson would recognize the problem. It is what prompted him to inaugurate our modern Navy and…use the Marines in on e of their most celebrated outings and victories.

I am an attorney in Las Vegas who has always wanted to draw political cartoons, partly because I like drawing, but mostly because I enjoy ridiculing pompous know-nothings. Verbally debating them gets nowhere. They don't know they're beaten. But poking fun at them in a drawing leaves them without recourse or rebuttal. What can they do...? Call me names, whine, cuss me ... or maybe draw a witty riposte? Unlikely.
