“Just like it would be foolish to put your child out if you know there is a rabid dog… it is foolish for us to accept people if we can not have the appropriate type of screening.” — Dr. Ben Carson
Over the weekend Dr. Ben Carson said something completely reasonable and totally logical about the debate over what to do with the Syrian refugees.
In essence he boils it down to…
Just because conservatives argue that, at this moment, it is far too dangerous to import thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of Muslim immigrants from Syria, doesn’t mean that we believe that we should not be doing what we can to help them.
There is a big difference between saying, “We won’t help the refugees” and, “We need to be careful with who we let in to our nation.”
The liberal media likes to pretend that this is an either/or game, but it isn’t.
We can help ease the suffering of the Syrian people without risking the lives of innocent American civilians.
