President Obama and his team of cronies must be really upset with Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) today. Over the weekend she hit the President’s strategy on ISIS for clearly being “insufficient.”
“It has become clear that limited air strikes and support for Iraqi forces and the Syrian opposition are not sufficient to protect our country and our allies,” she said in a statement.
Then on Monday Feinstein then went on MSNBC to tell the nation that not only was President Obama’s strategy insufficient, he is completely WRONG about ISIS being contained.
Dianne Feinstein: “I have never been more concerned. I read the intelligence faithfully. ISIL (or ISIS) is not contained. ISIL is expanding. They just put out a video saying it is their intent to attack this country. I think we have to be prepared. Hopefully, France will go for a chapter 5 which will bring NATO into it. Hopefully, we will work with our allies to put together the kind of coalitions and attack plans in more than one place at a given time.
There is only one way we are going to diminish them and that is by taking them out. Because they are growing.
They are in more than a dozen countries now. They are sophisticated. They have apps to communicate on that cannot be pierced even with a court order. So they have a kind of secret way of being able to conduct operations and operational planning. So we should take this very, very seriously.”
Feinstein went on to explain that she also believes the administration’s current plans for military engagement against ISIS are unrealistic and that we should be doing more work with our allies (and some who aren’t our allies) to combat the ISIS threat.
What worries me most about this interview is that Dianne Feinstein is one of President Obama’s biggest allies in the Senate, and here she is, just days after the President says that ISIS is contained, saying the exact opposite. Feinstein is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, meaning she is privy to all of the most up-to-date and important intelligence in the war on terror and the fight against ISIS. How is it that she has drawn the opposite conclusion of the state of affairs against ISIS that President Obama and his team have? That simply makes no sense.
Either President Obama was flat out lying during his interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos when he said that ISIS was “contained,” or President Obama simply has no idea what is going on in his own White House.
