A very disturbing audio clip of a popular Tennessee Imam has recently come to light. In his short message he reveals what the moderate, the middle road, the average American Muslim believes about those of us who practice Christianity and those who practice Judaism. He indeed lumps us together.
Imam Yasir Qadhi spends roughly two minutes or so explaining why it is that Jews and Christians are actually polytheists (those who worship more than one god), and how it impacts the Islamic view of them. Qadhi teaches that the Koran is clear in its teaching that polytheists are literally excrement who have no right to their life or to private property.
“The life and property of a mushrik [one who worships others besides Allah] holds no value in the state of jihad….which means if they don’t sayla illaha illa Allah, their lives and property are halal” — that is, permitted to be taken by the Muslims.
The basic premise is simple. Islam teaches that anyone who worships many gods has no right to live or claim property of any kind. The only way to secure your life and property is to say the magical conversion phrase that in effect makes you a Muslim. If you don’t… well you can probably guess the rest.
There it is. That’s the difference. Don’t convert to Islam, and you are less than nothing. If jihad is declared, your life is worthless and your possessions can be stripped from you without reason. If you are unfortunate enough to live in one of the many nations that lives under Islamic law, then you have little to no hope.
These are not the words of some “extremist” Islamic holy man teaching in an Arabian dessert; these are the words of a “moderate” American prayer leader living in Tennessee. He has earned graduate degrees from Yale, is a Dean at the Al Maghrib Institute and seemingly a popular teacher. Even to him, our lives mean nothing. We are excrement to him and his god. In their eyes we are polytheists, we are filthy, and our lives and property are nothing.
To the Muslim, we are nothing.
