Jim Webb Mocks Clinton and O’Malley on “Smart Power”

Last night at the Democrat presidential debate the biggest thing we learned was that Jim Webb is out of place among the Democrat candidates. Sure, he’s a liberal and no, I would never, ever vote for the man… but he might just be the best Democrat in politics today.

His best moment came when he explained which of his enemies he’s most proud of having made, but the one below may have come in a close second place.

On the heels of listening to Hillary Clinton and Martin O’Malley talk about American “smart power” a visibly disgusted Jim Webb argued that both were wrong about Libya and about the Obama administration’s use of “smart power”.

“Our response, which was smart power at its best… is the U.S. will not lead this, we will provide capabilities that we have, but the Europeans and the Arabs have to be first over the line… I think President Obama made the right decision at the time.

We had no treaties at risk, no Americans at risk…if people think it was a wise thing to do, try to get to the Tripoli airport today… you can’t do it.”
