Patriot, hero and military man Ben Smith, a former Navy Seal, recently gained notoriety for some statements he made during the Million Vet March on the Monuments. Mr. Smith’s assertion is that the Obama administration (using the federal government) was using the shutdown to try to provoke our nation’s veterans into taking action against the government.
The endgame being that the government wanted to impose martial law on the nation in an effort to stop the government shutdown.
Moreover, Mr. Smith believes that this may be a sustained effort that we are seeing from liberal government officials in an attempt to discredit our military veterans. He cites the government’s attempts to disarm veterans (particularly those with Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)), and he mentions the voting difficulties service members have had in recent elections – especially in states run by Democrat legislatures.
Is the federal government moving in a coordinated and planned way to crack down on the rights of our veterans in an effort to get them to act inappropriately so that they can be easily discredited?
I wouldn’t put it past the Obama administration, but I certainly hope that no politician would use these brave men and women as a political football in an attempt to vie themselves more political leverage.
Sadly, anyone who observed the government’s actions as they pertained to federal monuments and memorials knows that the Obama administration isn’t above playing political games with our heroes.
